i’ve decided that caribou’s “swim” is my favourite record of the year. it’s messy, unpolished, unfinished sounding. everytime i put it on it’s exciting. it fails to bore me despite having listened to it religiously for months and seen them play the vast majority of it live.

in addition to julian miaoux miaoux’s totally excellent rmx of ribbit, there’s been another choice edit of the track done by dems, and all i can say is “i pure love it”. that bit near the end, where the vocals go all dark and chillwave is mad chipper.
